Faith through Thanksgiving

Give Thanks
Here’s a Thanksgiving post that I wrote for another blog. I hope you enjoy!

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”  Psalm 136:1

You only need faith the size of a mustard seed to move mountains. What if you want faith greater than a mustard seed? The solution is simple. Build your faith in God by having a heart of thanksgiving.

Do you have food to eat? Give God thanks. Do you have a place to lay your head at night? Give God thanks. Did you wake up this morning? Give God thanks. Has God ever brought you through a tough situation or blessed you in ways never imagined? Give Him thanks. Even when it seems like there is nothing to be grateful for, there is. We are blessed when we struggle because it is through those struggles that God gives us strength we would not have received elsewhere. Give God thanks!

Don’t stop there. It’s most important that you thank God for who He is. Thank Him for being a God of love, grace, and mercy. Thank Him for being all-powerful, holy, and righteous. Thank Him for being the father of Jesus Christ.

There are infinite reasons to give God thanks! When you reflect on who God is and what He has done, you can only feel closer to Him. You trust and rely on Him like never before. Your thanksgiving increases your faith.

Prayer: Lord, you are an amazing God and I give you thanks for who you are and your works! May I not take anything for granted and realize that thanksgiving builds my faith. Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving!
