In the age of social media, we are just one swipe away from a meme that tells us what women should do to be loved. We must be loyal, ladylike, and submissive. All while keeping up with our appearance and caring for others by cooking, cleaning, and nurturing. In reality, none of these things make you lovable especially in God’s Kingdom.

God’s love is unconditional! He gives it freely and consistently because we are His daughters. God does not require anything from us in return for His love. Granted, God may not like some of the things we do, but His love still prevails. He loved us first – before we loved Him, ourselves, or anyone else. The beauty in it all is that God’s love is personified by Christ. Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the grave so that we could be forgiven of our unrighteousness and have a personal relationship with our Father. God not only tells us that He loves us, He shows it!

The next time you’re tagged in a viral video that instructs women on how to be lovable, ignore it. God’s love is already here!

12 Scriptures of God’s Unconditional Love

1) John 3:16 (NIV): “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

2) 1 John 4:10 (NIV): “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

3) Romans 8:38-39 (NIV): “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

4) Romans 5:8 (NIV): “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

5) Titus 3:3-7 (NIV): “At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”

6) 2 Chronicles 6:14 (NIV): “He said: ‘Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.’”

7) Psalm 23:6 (NIV): “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

8) Psalm 103:17-18 (NIV): “But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.”

9) 2 Timothy 1:9-10 (NLT): “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News.”

10) Psalm 100:5 (NIV): “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.”

11) Ephesians 2:4-6 (NIV): “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,”

12) Song of Solomon 8:7 (TLB): “Many waters cannot quench the flame of love, neither can the floods drown it. If a man tried to buy it with everything he owned, he couldn’t do it.”

"Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love." - Romans 5:5 (TLB)
