It doesn’t take much for me to get off track while working. A notification on my phone, a yawn of tiredness, social media- they all prove to be distractions. I needed a reminder to stay focused. Then I thought of the obvious. Why don’t I just put the phrase “stay focused” on the wall over my desk? Every time I hear Facebook calling my name, all I would have to do is look up and be reminded to stay focused.
I created a simple, pineapple-ly letter banner with this phrase to help me out (and it does!). In today’s tutorial, I will show you how to make your own inspirational letter banner that will encourage you throughout the day. Continue reading “Inspirational Letter Banner DIY”
Lately, I have been obsessed with rings. I love rings that can be layered, so I usually purchase bulk packs from Forever 21 to mix and match. With all of the rings that I collect, I needed a place to store and easily access them. So, in typical fashion, I saw this as an opportunity to make my own ring holder. It took no time for me to create and customize my ring holder. I’m talking about less than 30 minutes type of fast. In today’s blog post I will show you exactly how I made my splatter paint ring holder. Continue reading “How To Make A Splatter Paint Ring Holder”

“Then the Lord told me: ‘I will give you my message in the form of a vision. Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance. At the time I have decided, my words will come true. You can trust what I say about the future. It may take a long time, but keep on waiting— it will happen!’” – Habakkuk 2:2-3, CEV
God has a purpose for everyone! Isn’t that amazing news? What’s even more amazing is that we don’t have to figure out our purpose on our own. When we seek after God, He reveals His purpose to us through His word and equips us with the tools to carry it out. One tool that God blesses us with is vision.
Vision is the ability to imagine our future-selves working and attaining specific Continue reading “Corkboard Vision Board DIY”
I recently updated my blog post, DIY Stud Earrings, and realized it had been a while since I made earrings. I decided to make a pair since I still had earring making supplies. I wanted this pair to be different from earrings I already owned. I had recently purchased a multi-pack of glitter tubes and was looking for a way to incorporate the glitter into my DIY projects. This was Continue reading “DIY Glitter Stud Earrings”
Flower vases are basic room décor items. You can find them literally everywhere- doctors’ offices, model homes, your auntie’s house… just everywhere! Until recently I felt that flower vases were super outdated and overdone. I’m in the process of revamping my bedroom. So far, I have organized my dresser drawer and closet. Right now I am focused on updating my bedding because nothing on my bed is cohesive! I have a hot pink comforter, a leopard print body pillow, two shimmery black throw pillows and a pink chevron print pillow. My goal is to have pink, white and gold bedding. I didn’t want to purchase all new throw pillows, so I made pillowcases for them.

While beautiful, Easter decorations can be quite intimidating to make. Easter baskets, floral arrangements, and eggs, especially, take a lot of energy and time to put together. I’ve personally steered clear of any decoration that involves eggs. You put so much effort into dyeing eggs only to throw them away after Easter is over.
Many stores now sell inexpensive faux eggs. They hold the same shape and texture as normal eggs, but are durable. This makes them easier to decorate.
Not sure how to decorate faux eggs? In this blog post, I will show you three creative ways. Keep reading to find out how! Continue reading “3 Creative Ways to Decorate Easter Eggs”
One of my favorite DIY projects on Sharifa Creates is the photo clip string set. I created it within the first few months of starting this blog. I enjoyed making it and felt so accomplished hitting the publish button on that blog post.
I love the photo string post so much that I decided to make my very first YouTube video tutorial on it. Yes, a YouTube tutorial! Some people learn well with written instructions while others need a visual or mixture of both. For this reason I decided to expand Sharifa Creates to video.
