I love everything about Christmastime – the gift giving, yummy food, festive music, and especially the holiday decorations. Because Christmas brings me so much joy, I’ve always wondered how I can carry it with me throughout the year in a way that doesn’t include traditional décor. I finally figured it out! This year I made Ankara print fabric ornaments. They’re ornaments that can be used as everyday decorations whether winter, spring, summer, or fall.
In today’s DIY tutorial I will show you how to make Ankara print ornaments. If you don’t have Ankara print, you can use any piece of non-Christmas themed fabric. Let’s start crafting!
A few weeks ago, I came across the cutest Christmas tree headband at Forever 21. Instead of purchasing it, I challenged myself to make it!
Of course, I have to share the tutorial with you. This Christmas tree headband can be worn at a holiday party, while out shopping for gifts, or even on Christmas Day as you relax with family. It will put you in the Christmas spirit!
There’s beauty in learning how to persevere. In spite of the setbacks you face, you must complete what God has called you to do – no matter how large or small the task. Refuse to let procrastination, perfection, or blatant fear hinder you. When you reach a breakthrough, you’ll realize that every hardship you faced worked to develop your character in Christ. That makes the victory even sweeter.
I’m a strong advocate for DIY-ing Christmas presents. This marks my fourth year in a row making gifts instead of buying them. I started DIY-ing gifts because I was tired of heading into congested malls only to not find anything worth giving to friends and family. I couldn’t even bear the wait for items I ordered online to be shipped to me.
I had to take the initiative! Now I find unique YouTube and Pinterest tutorials for my favorite DIY projects, purchase a few items from the craft store, and create. It’s a peaceful process!
Nothing beats handmade gifts. They are from the heart. This is why I put together a DIY gift guide just for you. Make your presents this holiday season!
My favorite ornaments hands down are baubles. There are so many unique ways to decorate and use them. You don’t even need to hang them on a tree. For Day 10 of Craftsmas, I’ll show you three ways to decorate a bauble ornament. Keep reading to find out how! Continue reading “Craftsmas Day 10: DIY Christmas Ornaments”→
Nowadays anything can be made into an ornament even if it has nothing to do with Christmas. I’ve seen everything from pizza and donuts to cellphones and coffee cups as ornaments. So this year I thought, why not make a cactus ornament? It would make a super adorable and unique trimming plus it’s trendy!
Christmas trees traditionally are a holiday must have. But let’s face it; they can be an inconvenience whether real or faux. Trees take time to find and decorate and can also take up a lot of space. It’s a joyous process for many but, if you’re like me, you like to keep things simple.
Who says Christmas décor has to be some combination of red, green, and white? It’s okay to play around with an unconventional holiday color palette. In my opinion, any color is great for Christmas as long as it is matched with a little bit of glitter and gold. If you don’t believe me, try out this simple DIY tree garland project to find out for yourself. Continue reading “Craftsmas Day 5: DIY Glitter and Gold Tree Garland”→
