In January, many declared 2020 to be the year of 20/20 vision. It would be the year to achieve dreams and thrive. Well, 2020 threw everyone for a loop! Who would have imagined being in quarantine for months on end. Instead of declaring clear vision, people now describe the future as being uncertain.
Although we may not know what the future holds, we can be certain that God does know (Jeremiah 29:11). It’s important, more now than ever before, to draw into God’s presence! The Word of God reveals that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). Only God knows what the future holds. He can provide us with insight of what is to come and prepare us for it. However, we must be in a position to hear from Him.
To be honest, I’ve never worn scrunchies. Still I always admired how they could effortlessly be stretched, twisted, and popped to hold hair in place. The process of learning how to make scrunchies was not nearly as easy as using them. It was like perfecting a recipe. Through much trial and error, I finally got the “formula” right! Keep reading to learn how to make scrunchies.
Conversation hearts are a Valentine’s Day staple. I remember receiving these candies along with Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse cards from my classmates in elementary school. Although these candies tasted awful, they were super adorable. I always wanted to keep them just to appreciate their cuteness. But, they were food and I eventually had to throw them away.
Nowadays anything can be made into an ornament even if it has nothing to do with Christmas. I’ve seen everything from pizza and donuts to cellphones and coffee cups as ornaments. So this year I thought, why not make a cactus ornament? It would make a super adorable and unique trimming plus it’s trendy!
I’m in the process of revamping my bedroom. So far, I have organized my dresser drawer and closet. Right now I am focused on updating my bedding because nothing on my bed is cohesive! I have a hot pink comforter, a leopard print body pillow, two shimmery black throw pillows and a pink chevron print pillow. My goal is to have pink, white and gold bedding. I didn’t want to purchase all new throw pillows, so I made pillowcases for them.
In 4 Ways to Spark Creativity, I mentioned that one way to become inspired is through learning new techniques. I practice this by reading numerous craft books, scrolling through Pinterest and, most recently, watching YouTube video tutorials. Of the DIY video tutorials available, I especially enjoy sewing vlogs. When it comes to sewing, the best way I learn is by watching, not reading.
Any time I want to make a new piece of clothing, I head straight to YouTube. There are vloggers that teach everything from threading a needle to constructing prom dresses. I even created a YouTube channel to share my knowledge of sewing and crafting.
