How To Make Tissue Paper Tassels

Supplies

  • Tissue paper
  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and sticks (optional)

Instructions

Step One: Unfold

Take one sheet of tissue paper and lay it on a flat surface.

Step Two: Fold horizontally

Fold it in half horizontally.

Step Three: Fold vertically

Fold the paper in half again, this time vertically.

Step Four: Fold and mark

Fold once more vertically. Mark a line two inches from the top of the folded paper. This will be your stopping point.

Step Five: Cut

Cut one inch slits across the tissue paper. Be sure not to cut past the stopping point.

Step Six: Unfold

Unfold the tissue paper.

Step Seven: Cut again

Cut the paper in half.

Step Eight: Roll

Take one of the halves and roll the uncut portion together until you reach the end of the paper.

Step Nine: Twist

Now twist the rolled portion of the tassel.

Step Ten: Bend and twist

Bend the tassel in half and twist the top portion together. If you find that the twist is not staying together, feel free to hot glue it.

Step Eleven: Repeat

Repeat this process with the remaining half. Make as many tassels as your heart desires, string them onto twine and hang them up as décor.
