Crafters and glitter have a love-hate relationship. While glitter is an exciting medium to work with, it is painful to clean up. It trails behind you long after you are done crafting. I could write a whole blog post on the strange places I have found glitter.
What is the solution? Glitter paint!
Normally, glitter is shaken into wet glue and then dusted away. This method causes glitter to spread everywhere. Glitter paint is applied directly to a surface which eliminates the need to remove excess glitter. It also seals the glitter, preventing it from rubbing off.
In today’s DIY tutorial, I will show you how to make glitter paint. Making it yourself allows you to customize the glitter’s color, shape, and size as well as the paint’s density. It is a simple process! Keep reading for instructions.
Tassels have existed since the beginning of time. They are created with unique materials in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. Many people see tassels as purely decorative items. However, tassels serve as everything from status symbols to cultural signifiers. They mean different things to different people! For me personally, tassels signify healing.
In the Bible (Numbers 15:37-41), the Israelites were instructed to attach tassels with a blue cord to the hems of their garments. The tassels were a reminder to keep God’s commands. Later on, Jesus wore the same tassel adorned garment while ministering to people. The sick would touch the hem of Jesus’ garment and be miraculously healed.
“And when the men of that place had knowledge of Him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto Him all that were diseased; And besought Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.” – Matthew 14:35-36 (KJV)
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
God has placed treasures in each of us – unique physical and spiritual gifts. With these gifts, we have been called to glorify His name and draw people to Christ. Often we stifle our gifts because of fear. We fear failure, the opinions of people, and even God’s ability to transform our hearts.
We should not fear using our gifts for God’s Kingdom. God is with us! We are protected by His grace to do anything He’s called us to do. Walking in our purpose is the most fulfilling thing we can do. Continue reading “How To Make A Jewelry Box”→
