I have one Halloween tradition. That is to shop for half-priced candy on November 1st. I just don’t have the “let’s celebrate Halloween” bone in my body. Blame it on my parents. As a child, I was not allowed to dress up and go trick or treating. Instead I watched “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and passed out candy to the children who could participate.
I do, however, admire the effort that people put into their Halloween costumes. I have seen Starbucks Frappuccinos, donuts, Solange look-a-likes, and Emojis. The ideas are exceptionally creative.
While I still cannot bring myself to dress up for Halloween, I did get in on the creativity. I crafted some flower cat ears! And guess what? I plan to wear them while I candy shop. This is as good as it gets!
Maybe you need flower cat ears for your Halloween costume or want them as an everyday accessory. Learn how to make them in the following tutorial!
How To Make Flower Cat Ears
Supplies
- Metal cat ear headband
- Bouquet of small flowers
- Ribbon
- One sheet of felt
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Instructions
Place a drop of hot glue on one end of the cat ears. Begin wrapping the ribbon around the headband. Add more glue to the frame and continue wrapping the ribbon. Follow this pattern of gluing and wrapping until you reach the other end of the headband. Cut off any excess ribbon.
Remove the flowers from their stems and cut off the tips.
Hot glue the flowers to the cat ear portion of the headband.
Flip the headband over. Cut a triangle from the felt that is big enough to cover the cat ear’s back. Glue the felt to the headband.
I hope you have as much fun on Halloween as I do shopping for discount candy!
