I’m a strong advocate for DIY-ing Christmas presents. This marks my fourth year in a row making gifts instead of buying them. I started DIY-ing gifts because I was tired of heading into congested malls only to not find anything worth giving to friends and family. I couldn’t even bear the wait for items I ordered online to be shipped to me. I had to take the initiative! Now I find unique YouTube and Pinterest tutorials for my favorite DIY projects, purchase a few items from the craft store, and create. It’s a peaceful process!
Nothing beats handmade gifts. They are from the heart. This is why I put together a DIY gift guide just for you. Make your presents this holiday season!

God showed me that it was time to step outside of my comfort zone. I began praying for an opportunity to participate in an art show or market. It was a struggle for Continue reading “Black Girl Magic Art Market Recap”
At the beginning of May I took on a 21 Days 21 Paintings challenge on my Instagram account for Sharifa Creates Studio, @scstudioofficial. My goal was to paint and showcase 21 paintings for 21 days straight. I have to admit that I fell behind a few days, but was determined to finish the challenge strong. Through it I learned a few things about myself and creating. Here are three lessons I learned from the 21 Days 21 Paintings Challenge. Continue reading “3 Lessons Learned from #21days21paintings”
