While beautiful, Easter decorations can be quite intimidating to make. Easter baskets, floral arrangements, and eggs, especially, take a lot of energy and time to put together. I’ve personally steered clear of any decoration that involves eggs. You put so much effort into dyeing eggs only to throw them away after Easter is over.
Many stores now sell inexpensive faux eggs. They hold the same shape and texture as normal eggs, but are durable. This makes them easier to decorate.
Not sure how to decorate faux eggs? In this blog post, I will show you three creative ways. Keep reading to find out how!
How To Decorate Easter Eggs
Supplies
- Faux eggs
- Craft paint
- Paint markers
- Gold foil kit
- Sponges/ foam brushes
- Permanent markers
1. Gold foil
Use a sponge to dab two even layers of paint onto an egg. Allow the paint to dry. Apply the gold foil following the instructions provided with the kit.
2. Doodle
Draw a cute repetitive image on the egg with markers or freely doodle.
3. Splattered paint
Once again dab two even layers of paint onto the egg. When dry, use paint markers to apply dots all over the egg. The dots can be heavily concentrated, sparse or a mixture of both. The dots will give the appearance of splattered paint.

Thank you! I would say it took 15-20 minutes to make each egg that I painted because I had to dry them. It took me much less time to make the eggs I drew on. It helped that I worked on multiple eggs at a time.
