Monochrome Block Letter Sign

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Most of us have set goals concerning our careers, businesses, and families. One thing we all have in common is a desire to grow. We want to be doing different things 5, 10, or 20 years from now. We want to flourish.

We often make plans for the future without God’s influence. Not too quick! Psalm 94:11 notes that human-made plans are futile. Before moving forward with any idea, first check your roots. What does this mean? Let’s read Jeremiah 17:7-8 together:

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

The tree symbolizes us when we place our faith or roots in Jesus. When rooted in Christ, God nourishes us to survive and flourish. He blesses us with everything we need as a result of our faithfulness. Even when trouble arises, it will pass without incident. Being rooted in Christ looks like:

  • Seeking God for direction
  • Surrendering your plans to Him
  • Spending quality time with God
  • Trusting God with the details of your life
  • Obedience
  • Praying, reading the Bible, worshiping God, and participating in other disciplines of the Christian faith

When we root ourselves in Christ, God places us exactly where we need to be, fully equipped to operate in each season of life. We will not stay the same but become wise and knowledgeable, filled with the resolve of God. So the question remains: where will you be in 5 years? Your answer: Faithfully flourishing in Jesus!

I will show you how to make a monochrome block letter sign in today’s DIY project. I created my sign as a reminder to stay rooted in Christ. You, of course, can put any message on yours. Continue reading for step-by-step instructions.
