Crafty Ways to Save

We can all admit that art and craft supplies can be expensive. If you are an avid crafter like me, you always look for ways to reduce your spending. Based on my experience, here are five ways to save money on arts and crafts supplies.

5 Ways to Save on Arts & Crafts Supplies

1. Weekly Promotions

Art, craft, and fabric retailers run weekly promotions. They mark down prices on specific items such as canvas, beads, and vinyl rolls and send you coupons to spend on everything else. Sign up for email and text message notifications to stay updated on which promotions are offered during the week.

2. Lowest Prices of the Season

Retailers offer their lowest prices at different times of the year. Some occur around major holidays such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving (Black Friday). Others vary throughout the year by retailer. Make a note of these times to stock up on supplies you use year-round.

3. Online Deals

Online deals are a convenient way to save on art and craft supplies. Certain craft retailers offer online coupons for 20-40% off the total price. When you use these deals, you can buy what you need online with the coupon and select the option to pick it up in-store, saving you money and time.

4. Rewards Programs

Many craft stores reward you for your loyalty. They take a percentage of your purchases and put it towards a voucher. Small buys add up! You can receive vouchers worth $5, $10, or more to reduce future purchases.

5. Bulk pricing

Art and craft retailers now offer bulk pricing to all customers, not just businesses. If you need a lot of supplies to host classes or make gifts, consider purchasing in bulk to save money.

Prices vary from store to store, so comparing prices is a smart practice. There will be times when an item you want cannot be discounted. Consider breaking the cost down over several months for these more significant buys. Once you save enough money, buy it!
