How to Make Shaker Scrunchies

Shaker Scrunchies DIY Tutorial

Supplies

• How to Make the Perfect Scrunchie
• Sheer white organza or tulle
• Solid colored cotton fabric 
• Fillers such as confetti, sequins, or mini pom-poms* 
• Thread
• Scissors
• Sewing machine
• Ruler

*Must be plastic and glitter-free.

Instructions 

1. Use the pattern to cut a rectangle from the solid cotton fabric.
2. Pin the solid cotton rectangle to the sheer white fabric. 
3. Cut around the rectangle, leaving ⅝” of sheer fabric on the sides.
4. Sew the cotton and sheer fabric together with a ¼” seam allowance, leaving a 2″ opening.
5. Trim away the excess sheer fabric.
6. Pour the filler into the opening. Make sure the filler lies flat and is evenly distributed on the solid cotton fabric. 
7. Stitch the opening closed.
