As promised in the Graduation Dinner Party post, here is my tutorial for jumbo tissue paper flowers. These flowers are easy to create. I have made them several times since my party. I hope you enjoy!
How To Make Jumbo Tissue Paper Flowers
Supplies
- one pack of tissue paper
- scissors
- two paper clips
Instructions
Unfold your pack of tissue paper and lay it on a flat surface. I would suggest using between 5 and 10 sheets of paper to create your flower. The more sheets, the fluffier the flower.
Fold your paper accordion style.
Fold the tissue paper in half and paper clip it at its midpoint.
Trim the ends so that they are either curved or pointed. This will add shape to your flower. It becomes harder to trim the ends when you have more layers of tissue paper, so be patient while cutting. You don’t want to cut yourself!
Spread out the folds of the tissue paper.
Now for the fun part- fluffing! Gently lift up one sheet of tissue paper at a time, being careful not to rip it. Watch as your jumbo flower appears right before your eyes.
If you would like to hang your flower up, flip your completed flower upside down and make note of the two small gaps that separate the flower into two sections. Take some string and loop it through these two gaps. Tie a knot to secure it.
