3-D Party Banner DIY Tutorial

Make it your goal to celebrate your accomplishments – even the “small” wins. Celebrate your work promotion AND finally perfecting a recipe. Celebrations do not have to be extravagant undertakings. Simply do whatever brings you joy! That may mean watching your favorite TV show with a glass of wine, getting a mani-pedi, or crafting a dazzling piece of home décor. Life is more fulfilling when it’s celebrated.

Today’s DIY offers a literal way to celebrate as I show you how to create a 3-D Party Banner. This project combines the results of my letter banner and confetti tutorials. Keep reading for instructions!

How To Make A 3-D Party Banner

Supplies

  • A letter banner*
  • Confetti
  • String
  • Hot glue gun and sticks
  • Scissors
  • Patience

*Important note: The letter banner can be made by hand or with a cutting machine. You must use cardstock paper that is at least 110 lb. to hold the confetti’s weight.

Instructions

Step One: Prepare

Lay the unthreaded letter banner on a flat surface.

Step Two: Apply glue

Apply hot glue to a small portion of one letter.

Step Three: Pinch and scrunch

Grab a pinch of confetti and gently scrunch it into the glue. Watch your fingers!

Step Four: Repeat

Continue steps 2 & 3 until the entire letter is covered in confetti.

Step Five: Shake and fill

Shake off excess confetti and fill in blank spots.

Step Six: Trim

Trim confetti from the sides and top of the letter to reveal its shape.

Step Seven: Repeat

Repeat steps 2-6 with the remaining letters.

Step Eight: String banner

Cut a piece of string long enough to hang all your letters. Lay the letters out in order and flip them up to reveal the back. Squeeze a dime-sized dot of hot glue onto the bottom, center portion of the first letter. Press the string into the glue and allow time for drying. Repeat this process with the other letters.

Step Nine: Decorate and celebrate!

Create your 3D party banner using a letter banner cut file from my Etsy shop!
