“While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.” – Mark 14:3
It is God’s desire for us to serve Him by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with other people. We may feel unprepared, unwilling, and even fearful to serve. Yet with God’s word and the guidance of Holy Spirit, we are well equipped.
Read Mark 14:3-9. In this scripture, Jesus was anointed by a woman as He ate dinner with the disciples. She poured a jar of expensive perfume onto His head. This woman was judged and rebuked by those around her, but Jesus was blessed by her action – she had prepared His body for burial. This passage can be interpreted in a number of ways, but at its root this is a beautiful example of how to serve Christ.

There’s beauty in learning how to persevere. In spite of the setbacks you face, you must complete what God has called you to do – no matter how large or small the task. Refuse to let procrastination, perfection, or blatant fear hinder you. When you reach a breakthrough, you’ll realize that every hardship you faced worked to develop your character in Christ. That makes the victory even sweeter.

In my previous blog post, I wrote about God’s unconditional love. While we know what it means for God to love us, what does it mean for us to love Him?
Love is more than a verbal proclamation, it is a physical expression. God expressed His love by allowing Jesus to be crucified so we could experience freedom from sin and have a relationship with Him. In the same way, we should express our love for God with an action. That action is obedience. Continue reading “Love and Obedience”
In the age of social media, we are just one swipe away from a meme that tells us what women should do to be loved. We must be loyal, ladylike, and submissive. All while keeping up with our appearance and caring for others by cooking, cleaning, and nurturing. In reality, none of these things make you lovable especially in God’s kingdom.
God’s love is unconditional! He gives it freely and consistently because we are His daughters. God does not require anything from us in return for His love. Granted, God may not like some of the things we do, but His love still prevails. He loved us first – before we loved Him, ourselves, or anyone else. The beauty in it all is that God’s love is personified by Christ. Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the grave so that we could be forgiven of our unrighteousness and have a personal relationship with our Father. God not only tells us that He loves us, He shows it! Continue reading “12 Scriptures on God’s Unconditional Love”
Happy New Year! I’m excited for 2018 and all of the opportunities it has to offer. What I’m most excited about is the direction God is taking this blog. He has allowed me to run this blog for three solid years. I’ve used it as an outlet to showcase my creative gifts, sharing numerous art and craft DIY projects and, in the past year, I started writing inspirational posts through my Motivational Monday series. I’m grateful that God allows me to be a light to others. While I will Continue reading “Sharifa Creates’ Shift & Re-brand”
