The DIY Holiday Gift Guide

the diy holiday

I’m a strong advocate for DIY-ing Christmas presents. This marks my fourth year in a row making gifts instead of buying them. I started DIY-ing gifts because I was tired of heading into congested malls only to not find anything worth giving to friends and family. I couldn’t even bear the wait for items I ordered online to be shipped to me. I had to take the initiative! Now I find unique YouTube and Pinterest tutorials for my favorite DIY projects, purchase a few items from the craft store, and create. It’s a peaceful process!

Nothing beats handmade gifts. They are from the heart. This is why I put together a DIY gift guide just for you. Make your presents this holiday season!

Sharifa Creates’ Studio Instagram Giveaway

It’s been a year since I opened Sharifa Creates’ Studio to sell my paintings. Running this business endeavor has its ups and downs, but I’m motivated every day to push forward. God is a promise keeper!

To celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Sharifa Creates’ Studio, I’ve decided to do an Instagram giveaway! I’m giving away one set of three abstract art magnets from the studio. This is your chance to win some of my artwork!

To enter this contest you MUST:

  1. Follow both @sharifacreates (blog) and @scstudioofficial (shop) on Instagram AND like the original IG post. (You must have an Instagram account to enter this giveaway.)
  2. Comment on the original Instagram post. Tag 1-3 friends or family members in the comments and share words of encouragement with them. The end of the year can be challenging for many. There’s the pressure of managing finances, performing well on final exams, and accomplishing goals set at the beginning of the year, just to name a few. You never know what someone may be going through, so a word of encouragement can be extremely timely. Use the space in the comments to uplift and motivate!
  3. For an extra entry, repost the original Instagram giveaway post to your IG page and tag @sharifacreates and @scstudioofficial.

And that’s all it takes: follow, like, encourage, and repost! This giveaway begins today, December 4, 2017 and will end on December 7, 2017 at 11:59 pm CST. It is only open to residents of the United States. One winner will be drawn at random and notified via Instagram direct message on Friday, December 8, 2017 (stay close to your DMs!). Head to Instagram to enter. Be blessed!

DIY Flower Cat Ears

I have one Halloween tradition. That is to shop for half-priced candy on November 1st. I just don’t have the “let’s celebrate Halloween” bone in my body. Blame it on my parents. As a child, I was not allowed to dress up and go trick or treating. Instead I watched “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and passed out candy to the children who could participate.

I do, however, admire the effort that people put into their Halloween costumes. I have seen Starbucks Frappuccinos, donuts, Solange look-a-likes, and Emojis. The ideas are exceptionally creative.

While I still cannot bring myself Continue reading “DIY Flower Cat Ears”
