I’m in the process of revamping my bedroom. So far, I have organized my dresser drawer and closet. Right now I am focused on updating my bedding because nothing on my bed is cohesive! I have a hot pink comforter, a leopard print body pillow, two shimmery black throw pillows and a pink chevron print pillow. My goal is to have pink, white and gold bedding. I didn’t want to purchase all new throw pillows, so I made pillowcases for them.

How To Make Pillowcases
Supplies
- Fabric (enough to cover your pillow)
- Thread
- A needle or sewing machine
- Scissors
Instructions
Measure the length and width of your pillow. Double the length and add 4 inches to it. Add 3 inches to the width. Then cut a piece of fabric with these dimensions.
Hem ½ of an inch on each end of the fabric (the short sides).
Lay the fabric right side up on a flat surface. Place your pillow in the middle. Fold the fabric over the pillow so it is covered completely. Adjust the placement of the pillow until the overlap of the ends measure at least 3 inches. See image below for clarity.
Pin the overlap and slide the pillow from between the fabric. Adjust the fabric so that the edges are even. Sew along each edge with a 5/8” seam allowance to create your pillowcase.
Turn the pillowcase right side out and pull it over your pillow.

Take 15 minutes today to read, write down, and meditate on this scripture: “Jesus gave them this answer: ‘Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.’” – John 5:19
